FB3 - Secrets of Dumbledore • Thoughts about the trailer
First of all, I am very much looking forward to watch the next movie. All controversy aside, there is a wonderful cast and crew behind it who poured their heart and soul into it and deserve all the love and respect!
To me, the trailer looks - except for the battle scenes - pretty lighthearted. A fun little movie with a magical squad + 1 muggle on an adventure. But this might be misleading. Noticeably, Newt’s clothing got darker. The coat is now a dark navy color and the once amber colored vest became a dark grey. I think it might depict his state of mind and that he actually starts to worry …
The title states Secrets of Dumbledore, but to me this is not the most interesting question. Not at all - rather than:
Who or what hurt Newt?!? Why is his hand bandaged and why is his forehead stitched up? If it was a loving creature, fine - we can accept that. I doubt it, though …
Where is Tina?
I think her absence is leading to something and we’re just not meant to find out, yet. They didn’t show her for a reason - it could have been too revealing. I’m convinced that, even though she might not have a lot of scenes it will be very important for the storyline and her relationship with Newt. Never lose hope!
Why is little Pickett looking terrified?
It seems like Pickett stole Newt’s wand or retrieved it back somehow. Has Newt been disarmed/injured in a battle? Is Pickett on a rescue mission to save him? Brave little fella!
Will Theseus survive? (this instalment)
Theseus’ character is apparently the most anticipated to be doomed over the course of the next movie(s). To be honest, I have a very strong feeling that he will die at some point. He might not want to, of course not. He loves Newt and wants to know that he is safe, but if he has to actually save his brother he’d do anything for him - like anything. He is a carer and a hugger. No arguments.
Will Queenie return to the good side or will she stay evil?
The Queenie in the scene with Jacob in the bakery looks so different - almost as if someone has taken possession over her body and pretending to be her?! it might be an illusion … Jacob and her deserve a happy ending, just like Newt and Tina. Pretty, please.
As Mads Mikkelsen revealed in an interview, there will be major heartbreak - I am prepared for the worst - Wait, there’s a high chance that a creature might not survive *sniffles* I can’t cope with another Dobby-like death! But a certain author likes to kill of beloved characters and family members …
Scenes I’m most looking forward to watch:
Newt out in the wild - This will be actually pretty lovely to witness. Magizoologist at work. Discovering and rescuing creates and preparing for his manuscript. Which also gives me the idea that Newt might get ambushed while saving the little baby creature as shown in the teaser. Supposedly it’s a creature which is connected to Grindewald…
Crab dance - Swivel but delicately
This might be my favorite scene so far. The brotherly bond between Newt and Theseus, teasing each other. “I’m swiveling like you’re swiveling” and right after running for their lives. The dance scene might be another one for Jimmy Fallon to learn when Eddie appears on the show again. Remember the mating dance and licking the floor.
The magic squad + “I wanna be a wizard” No-Maj in Hogwarts
Not much to add here, just memories of a warm wizardry hug every year or two. Although this scene looks a bit like ‘murder on the orient express’
Epic battle between Grindelwald and Newt
I’m very excited and equally scared about this. Who else will be involved? Or is it only a duel? Will Newt get help from his creatures? Will they leave us off with a cliff at that point? Don’t you dare!! They filmed this specific scene for 3 weeks!! It must be absolutely extraordinary!
